The Peel’ is a house that adopts the morphology of the site. It creates a folded plane of planted earth to conceal the building mass while simultaneously opening its facade to reveal the views and create exterior spaces. From above, the roof is punctured to create atriums and skylights that bring in light and air through carefully sculpted spaces. The flows within the house lead to moments tied to the landscape such as the stair that leads to the ‘diamond stone’, an impressive geological landmark. The outcome is a flowing intervention that provides a diversity of experiences while respecting and enhancing the natural qualities of the place.
