THE LEMON HOUSE

The guest house is a circular structure made of local stone. In the front it has a veranda oriented towards the north where the view to the sea can be enjoyed. In the back side is barely bared merging as such with the natural topography. Its layout is organized around an egg shaped ( in plan) atrium where a lemon tree is planted. The hard-scape of this court is solely a Jacuzzi. All the rest is the natural ground of the area, relocated after the construction. The 97 s.m, guest house (125 s.m. including the stone walls) has a master bedroom with a spacious bathroom in direct relationship with the jacuzzi of the interior court. Despite its hermetic shape regarding the small windows around the circular periphery  of the stonewall, the master bedroom is wide open through a 2.3 x 2.3 glass pane to the veranda. On the other side of the covered open air area (veranda) the is a small kitchenette unified with a living room that can easily be transformed to a comfortable sleeping space for two people with their own shower and their beds around a fireplace. The egg shaped wall of the court is the core of the building for the reason that it can have pockets engraved to his mass  for wardrobes and desk for the master bedroom, toilet and shower bench for the bathroom, fireplace and storage space for the living room, stove of the kitchenette.

The parking is an inclined circular concrete slab, adjacent to the property entrance that rests freely on the ground. The 7% inclination of floor absorbs the morphology of the smooth olive grove. Its ceiling is made out of exposed concrete and its roof is planted with grapes so it merges into the landscape from a faraway view. In the middle it has a lemon tree protected from the north winds with a curvy wall made of exposed concrete. From southern side the lemon tree is surrounded   by concrete columns so it is partially visible while the parking is in use.

The grounds keeper house is located adjacent to the parking. It will be a fully equipped house around an ellipsoid atrium with a lemon tree in the middle. It has a master bedroom in proximity to a kid's room with potential transformation to storage.  The location of the grounds keeper house is in the middle of the valley for having proximity for both the guest houses and the main house. The ground there is not steep and the house is approachable from the west side directly from the level of the olive grove while from the east side you will have to ramp down 1.5m. The living room and the kitchen are spacious and bright since they are oriented towards the south and they are open also to the atrium.
